A Veteran Leader in Law Enforcement
William G. Thompson Jr., MSOL (Jerry), is a retired law enforcement veteran with over 31 years of dedicated service in the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Beginning his career as a cadet dispatcher, Jerry rose through the ranks to become the Northeast Ohio LCS Unit Commander. His extensive experience in law enforcement informs his current role as an instructor with FBI-LEEDA, where he focuses on various leadership topics. Jerry has been honored with the designation of Master Instructor by the FBI-LEEDS for his exceptional in-class instruction.
Educational Qualifications
Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership. He is a graduate of the prestigious Northwestern University Staff and Command School and is currently completing a second Master’s degree in education. Additionally, he is certified in Advanced Behavioral Analysis and Team and Value “DISC” Training processes by the Institute for Motivational Live and PeopleKeysTM. As a trainer for the Arbinger Institute’s Developing and Implementing an Outward Mindset program, Jerry is committed to fostering effective leadership practices.
Commitment to Leadership Development
In 2019, Jerry had the transformative experience of providing training to law enforcement and military personnel in Uganda, which he describes as life-changing. He believes that every individual in a law enforcement uniform should see themselves as a MASCOT of their organization, embodying its values and principles. Jerry is married to Beatrice, and is proud to be the father of two grown daughters and the grandfather of three delightful grandchildren.
